I always had the same problem, living 10 minutes walk from my main office.
Fortunately it also works the other way as well. as I was never in a rush to leave in the evening.
So when someone had a dig about time keeping, I could always comment that I hadn't noticed them around the office at the time I went home smiley - smiley

Absolutely, it also means I'm in the office when it's nice and quiet and deserted.
... Until the cleaning ladies kick me out.

Later when I was a boss, I used the rule, anyone who comes in after me is late...


Of course these days...
Now I've taken early retirement...

When I used to commute to Central London from Sussex (a distance of 40 odd miles) I discovered that it took colleagues who lived much closer just as long to get to work.smiley - erm

Because my journey was one straightforward train trip, whereas theirs' involved tubes and buses and lots of waiting for connections. smiley - groan
