Gnomon - time to move on

At the moment this is suffering from a presentation problem. There are too many short paragraphs with a sentence in each. I think it would benefit from putting the "Method" part into a bullet point list, and perhaps adding a few headers.

I agree, I'm having some glitching problems with editing this at the moment. (I'm in discussion with Pastey)

Hi, (reply to Gnomon)

I had a thought, and this may be why the text is a bit stilted, I agree, it is. It's to do with how the photos will be inserted, as sometimes it's really hard to get the image lined up with the bit of text it should go next to. I may ask Tavaron for a special dispensation to upload the images now, so I can work the text around them, rather than fuss too much with the wording now and then find it's hard to get it to format easily later on.

So sorry, that was me in the above post - wrong browser - I thought I'd logged out completely from the GE account. Apologies.

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky.

Very clear method, Lanza.

I agree, if you can get the photos in while it's still in PR and work the text around it that would help with the formatting.

This sounds a pleasant thing to do in January or February, when citrus fruits are in season and the weather encourages inside activities. smiley - smiley

Which made me wonder if it would be possible to involve children in some of the processes - not boling the syrup but cutting up lemons or oranges, dredging pieces of skin with sugar and chopping them up....and eating them.smiley - biggrin But maybe I'm remembering making marmalade with my mother.

I'm sure they'd love to help. Especially with eating all the fruit. I ended up with loads of oranges and had to make pancakes to go with them.

I don't think I'll suggest children in the Entry. Most of the activity involves the boiling part, I'm amazed I didn't scald my own hands.

As for making marmalade - I am most certainly going to be doing this after the New Year. I had to decant the last of my imported marmalade just so as to have a jar to store the mincemeat in. Then I realised that making my own marmalade would be so much cheaper!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
