Some of these songs became famous along with the movies. Others, frankly, livened up some cinema turkeys and became much better known than the films they were featured in. Some even rescued their films from obscurity. For example, the rather dull Western High Noon became a much bigger hit due to its theme song, Dmitri Tiomkin's memorable 'Do Not Forsake Me, O My Darling'. Not bad for a Russian composer..
