Bob, I think the problem is that the AWW is really a forum for fiction, poetry, and creative essay writing. It's not really a workshop for PR. Which is probably why you don't find many takers here. Don't we have an active PR workshop?
For my part, I think you should probably back up the statement to the effect that it's no accident Dumas chose Villiers as a character. Explain your reasoning to us - is it because he was a bit OTT? Because he was a swashbuckling figure? If so, say so.
Also, I think you should be less coy about James I's sexuality. I believe he's been known to be gay for quite a long time. Didn't Walter Scott mention it in a novel? Anyway, just say gay and get on with it, say I.
