No particular suggestion arising from the article; just thought it gave a good overview, in a longer dimension.

Thanks, Recumbentman.
I've pinched your suggestion, and had a slight reword of the footnotes, including adding this sentence: "Now you know why it's called the Concerto in A, even though the clarinet player is playing in the key of C!".

Are we all happy now? Is there anything more to add?

Sorry, no, the two major problems are yet to be sorted. Unfortunately I can't dedicate much time to this until after Easter.

It is, it is. Is now the wrong time to tell you all about the projects I've now set myself as a result of my event at Easter??
I don't about this Entry, I've kinda lost the love. It seemed like a great idea at the time, but I'm not so sure now. I think it's lost its way a bit. The original question is out of date, and I don't think I have the energy to do the research required to re-jig it into an Entry about musicology reconstruction (about which I know little). The problems with musical illustrations aren't going to go away either.

Do you think you'd like to have this sent 'back to Entry'? Then you can keep it in reserve for a time when you feel more enthusiastic towards it.
I always feel that if something is hanging around in Peer Review too long it gets stale and is a constant nag of unfinished business.
I will say though, that this was generally well received and liked by the reviewers.

Yes, I liked it and I think it reads very well as it is - mentions that the new version is now the standard in concert halls, but you may hear the jumpy version played by people who haven't got the clarinet with the low notes, so it isn't really out of date (it's informative about musicology reconstruction in a clear way using a specific example).
I also think the article would read well with or without the penultimate paragraph (if it were moved to a footnote or something).
Whether this gets Edited or not, I've enjoyed learning about the topic anyway

Yes, Lanza, please send it back to Entry. I'll keep it warm there instead.
And thanks SashaQ, it's lovely to know that other people have found it interesting.

Are you sure we can't tempt you back to this?
It seems so close to completion, and it has received many good comments. I think it might be an excellent addition to the guide, but only if your happy with it.
P.S. My father played clarinet in a band while I was growing up, so that may be why I would like to see it completed.

VIP, do you intend to work on this entry and submit it again to Peer Review?
Because as you know, I was also working on an entry on the same topic and had intended to put it into Peer Review. If you're not going to finish yours, I'll go back and work on mine.

I'm afraid life is just that bit too hectic at the moment, Gnomon. Feel free to take anything that you think is useful.
