sorry - I won't get to Cologne this weekend (short notice trip to Istanbul and I won't get back until Saturday evening)
Maybe I'll make it on 3rd October (holiday) or the weekend after that. I hope that's ok for you all.

I'm sure that's plenty of time - nobody's even picked this yet.
Have a great time in Istanbul, and send the Post your pics!

I'll describe the Istanbul pics:
inside of airport
inside of taxi (and maybe a glimpse of my white knuckles)
inside of office
inside of taxi
inside of over decorated (but luxurious) corporate-stylee hotel
inside of over expensive business restaurant
inside of taxi
inside of office
inside of taxi
inside of airport...
yes... feel sorry for me
also: someone pick this, it's great!

I get the white knuckles. I used to live in Greece. I'll bet Constantinopolis has similar taxi drivers.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Oh, dear. I wonder if it's been taken down? I thought my info was up-to-date.

Doesn't matter if we don't have a picture, though.

the problem I had, even finding the Schmitzsäüle was the complete and utter lack of an address of any kind on the Köln tourist board website. If I knew: go to this house, look up, there it is XX str nr XX it would have been a LOT better
As it was I had to google the Martinskirche and use the google maps navigation thing (which was very good but threw up a whole other niggle)

You're a marvel for finding it. It's been a long time, but as I remember it, those streets are a maze back there.

Y'know I've only just read the thread too, and found meself being blamed for the entry in the opening post.
Ah, there's many a foolish word spoken in haste.
