Please read the introit in the PR thread for Volleyball first
This is not a pure FM rescue, it has been taken from the researcher directly, but treated the same
It is one of three entries that have a significant amount of relation to each other - this entry in particular makes the other two easier to understand.

Definitions added, some altered, all checked to my limited experience.

I've tried to mark wherever in this entry another entry crops up.

I could switch this to only marking where a term not yet explained is used

Not being an avid volleyball player there's not much detail I can comment on this. I'd advise deleting the double quotation marks as they don't always show up very well. The only spelling thing I noticed was 'cross-over,piston', which needs a space there.

Personally I like the bold for any explained term approach, as it makes it obvious that each term has been explained.

Dealt with the spelling mistake

Cheers for comments

I have been going through all three entries, and trying to remove the (") - Most removed but I have the ones in the links (which i assume aren't a problem) and the ones used to indicate inches, which are relatively important.

Are the problems very significant?

I only know, from being told, that the double quotes are not generally used in Edited Entries, like the curly apostrophe they can cause problems for some browsers.

I've never heard that double quotes cause problems. I think they are not used because it is standard British publishing practice to use single quotes.

This has been changing in the last few years as American practices are creeping in, but I think we should stick to the British way for the moment.

NBB, you've used the term "entry" in this to mean a single word with definition, but we use entry to mean the whole page. Can you think or another term for what you are describing, such as, perhaps, "term"?

I've shifted the problematic "entry" (the others do refer to whole entries so I assume they remain)

So should I be using ("") or ('')?
Several people have commented that they cause problems, but you say its fine Gnomon (or at least it is in h2g2)

You should be using 'single quotes' because that is our House Style.

I'm confused by your description of the court numbering system. Could you do a simple diagram? I'll add it to the entry. In fact, we could probably add it both entries where you mention the numbering system.

Yes, when i saw it first it was explained by a diagram

With my art skills it could take a while, but I'll try and get it in a day or two - what do i do with it once i've made it?

Don't worry about the art skills, as I can play around with it. Send it to guideeditorsATh2g2DOTcom saying what it is.

I am sorry if I was wrong about the double quotes. I was most definitely told not to use them for 'browser reasons'. Whoever informed me of this must have been wrong then. We should make 'house style' clearer if needed.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Woohoo!! smiley - hug

However subs, since the entry was picked before i could make one up

Could you/the artist responsible for my illustration also make a little diagram as suggested before for both this entry and the techniques and tactics entry to explain the rotation system

As said i don't think it should be too complicated but would make it much easier to understand

Hi - you can still send in a diagram, as suggested? I'll make sure that the diagram and the Entry are welded together.

Er So long as the subbies don't rush it (which, of course with such an amazing set of entries they'd do smiley - winkeye )

I'm not gonna be able to start it for a week I assume since other than the internet cafe nearby I won't have a computer

Not having done arty stuff advice on both how (to do it) and send it (how do the artists like their breakfast drawings?)

Since its just simple black lines surely even paint or word would wurffice?

Not quite sure what wurffice wanted to be, but it should be suffice
