Hi there Minorvogonpoet! I enjoyed your story a lot. I especially like it that you put into it the question of what a human is or should be. I have often wondered if some earlier forms of human like the Neanderthals or Homo Erectus, or even the 'hobbits' of Flores (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flores_hobbit), were still around, how we would view and treat them.

Thanks Willem. 
It's an interesting question, though, given the way humans treat other members of the homo sapiens race, the answer doesn't seem likely to be positive.
