I'm particularly happy, because I have celiac disease and there's no wheat in my flat. 
I'm cool with this. I noticed one more pronoun change:
'to make it palatable for both themselves and our sneaky weevil pests.'
Maybe change 'our' to 'their'? Or just 'the'?
