I think the best idea with this is Z's - putting it into the FM and then touching it up and then resubmitting it to PR.

All it needs is the usual nominating/seconding process smiley - ok

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Erm, "This really should be in the guide" (hint, hint)

It seems to have slipped down the list ever so slightly. I'm here (again) to rescue it from obscurity.

Please re-read this article and see if it can get into the Edited guide.

Bob, I'm confused. You submitted this to PR didn't you? So when someone asks whether or not this article is being worked on, they are really asking "Bob, are you going to work on this article, or let it die?" Lastly, when you say "we need to get this into the EG", the only person who really needs to hear that is you - because if you make the changes, or at least discuss the proposed changes, this article will most certainly get into the guide. BTW, if you don't want to do any of this, I or any number of other interested parties will be happy to do it for you. Just let us know.

I didn't write it, I just saw it, liked itsmiley - smiley, and plucked it from obscurity. Jeff Tranter (U208298) wrote this thing, but he appears to have dissapeared. smiley - run

So what happens now?

I contact the Eds and request that this be moved to the Flea Market. That's what happens now smiley - smiley

Great Idea: It would have been a shame to let this languish in the middle of Peer review, unseen for many genrations.

Bob, if you submit to Peer Review, than you're ultimately responsible for it getting into the EG (or not). Doesn't matter who wrote it first. So, to clarify: you're done working on this, right?

where'd everyone go?

Well he can't work on it as he isn't the author, therefore he dosen't have editing rights on it.

This entry is on the list of ones to be moved to the Flea Market, and it's at that point that Bob (or anyone else) can take up the reins and work on their copy of the entry.

ahh, I see. So I can go around nominating random articles for peer review?

A872732 - How To Fix Electronic Things

Post 35

GreyDesk

No absolutely not!

If you come across a well written gem that meets all of the writing guidelines and will get through Peer Review without requiring any changes, then yes I suppose you could. Submitting any old rubbish that is lying around is not on.

Well this has now been hanging around in the Flea Market for ages, and Z never picked it up...so I have instead. If Z, or anyone else, has any objections to this or anything they would super-duper like to be added and they feel they know all about it could they please either leave a message here or at my PS smiley - ok

One thing that's possibly worth adding is that when partially dismantling equipment with lots of wiring, a digital camera can be invaluable. Taking plenty of pictures from different angles before starting to disconnect, and then some more during the process can be very useful when it comes to connecting everything back up again.
