Well, maybe the movies weren't (or at least the Conan remake), but reading this was.

Thanks. The new Fright Night is certainly the better of the two (I would see it in 2D if you can - although I'm not sure that's an option) but Conan made me sort of weirdly nostalgic for bad films of years gone by like Red Sonja and the original Conan films.
