Tesco is taking over the world!

Seaton in Devon has been embroiled in a dispute over a "regeneration"
project that involved planning permission for a Tesco (they's already bought derelict land)store - the plans were not well received - Sainsbury's submitted plans, locals much more impressed. We already have Tesco stores in Axminster, Honiton and Lyme Regis - poorly stocked, under staffed - why would anyone want more of the same? Yesterday a meeting at the Town Hall to "discuss" was limited to 200 even a local councillor couldn't gain entry. People waving orange cards, paper - anything in support of Sainsbury's hovered under the watchful gaze of Police! I and many others wrote emails to Cllr Paul Diviani stating our prefference for Sainsbury's - outcome of the EDDC meeting - Tesco plan was approved! Where is democracy in that, where competition, where is common sense? I think this was a "done deal" long before the puiblic knew anything about it - money has won yet again. Councillors and politicians - they're all the same!
