Welcome to H2G2 (or HooToo as we often say round these parts) 
I'm sure an 'ACE' (assistant community editer ) will be along to your personal space, which you can get toby clicking the link towrds the top of the page, soon, and they'l leave you a message with tons of useful stuff in it about getting about the site, places to go things to see, where to find out about writing for the guide, and all kinds of stuff 
So till then, and maybe its a bit late at night for some of them (they're probably all drunk
