Public Information Film Season

I find the old public information films highly amusing and for any other film buffs or fanatics out there, there's going to be a season to keep us all entertained starting in September.
Safety mantras such as 'Stop, Look Listen!', 'Clunk Click Every Trip!' and 'Think before you drink, before you drive!' have been etched into the minds of millions via public information films over the last 60 years.
To celebrate 60 years of PIFs the Central Office of Information with the British Film Institute are hosting a month long season of films starting on 21st September at the National Film Theatre in London.
The launch night, 'Charley Says', features some of the nations favourite PIFs (and characters, including the Green Cross Code Man, Tufty and Jo and Petunia) other nights including 'Your Very Good Health' and 'Crime and Punishment' contain a diverse range of films that helped keep our nation healthy, safe and well.
It is a very entertaining look at the films of the past 60 years and a great opportunity to see our social history in film. Hope to see you there!!
