The very fact that such well,MAMMOTH creatures are found in the permafrost,undigested food in their stomachs, indicates that a sudden, catastrophic event occurred. I don't like the Comet/Asteroid/Pole Shift theories,because, even in the worst disasters life finds a way to hang in there. In Canada,there are bison that ride out -100F* winters!
We're talking GLOBAL,FAST,and OVERWHELMING. ( and,I suspect,involving liquid water.) Although man IS quite the prolific little hunter-they've found huge ivory huts in Russia. Poor snuffaluffagi.
