Re win 8, no, I'll wait till they do the usual and bring out the first service pack to iron out the gremlins. Plus its designed primarily with touch-screen use and tbh its a bit clumsy to use with the usual mouse/keyboard methods.
It relies on the use of Apps rather than the usual programs plus they've swamped it with ads pushing said apps.
Win 7 is what Vista should have been, its an excellent system.

The games on win 8 are the worst for the ads.You get upto a 30 second ad for another app between levels as well as bright, coloured panels each side of the screen that constantly change colour all the while. You can't ignore them and worse still, you can't turn them off either. If you pay for the upgrade to a game you loose the ads between levels but still get them either side on the screen. They're a nightmare. They had to slow some of them down, they changed so fast they triggered epilepsy with some folk.

This new pc threw a scare into me yesterday. Switched on as normal, there was a loud crack followed by a horrible grinding noise. Sounded just like a bearing had gone. Turned out to be a blade had broken off the cooling fan in the power unit. Never known that happen, ever. The broken blade jammed the fan hence the noise.
Fortunately got a replacement by return under warranty and all sorted now.

Blimey, I'd have to go some to catch you up in wipe outs.
The only reason I did a wipeout this time was because of going back to win 7 rather than an upgrade. I'll use the spare pc to test the win 8 system as and when the time comes.
