How many jars does this make and what size are they? When I do canning in the fall, I put the jars in a preheated 275 degree oven (farenheit) for about 30 min. I boil the tops and sealers. As long as the preserves are hot, you can pull out one jar at a time, fill and seal. This is an easier way to sterilize everything. I wouldn't do it with a meat sauce though. I'll give this reci;e a whirl! Cheers- Kathleen

It makes 3 1/2 pints - 2 litres or so. Definitely recommended!
