Is Imitation Flattering?

Imitation

I believe Victor Lewis-Smith was once quoted as saying that,

''Imitation is the sincerest form of being an unimaginative b*****d.'

This is completely true and there is no argument that actually rings true that imitation isn't the behaviour of the unimaginative.

For prime examples of this, see the collective works of Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, Dennis Leary and many more wealthy 'artists' who have made careers out of imitation of others.
