A Conversation for Isle Of Wight Shipwrecks: Pomone, Carn Brae Castle

HMS Pomone Wrecksite

I have been doing family research and have discovered that Captain Robert Barrie of the HMS Pomone was a part of my allied family. I have spent the last two years researching this illustrious man and his family and would like to know about the artifacts that have been discovered at the HMS Pomone Wrecksite. The author of the article on this website seemed to have intimate knowledge of where Captain Barrie was at the time of the sinking and what was said and done onboard--more then just a vague reference. I would like to know where this information was found.

I reside in the US, so it is only once per year that I get to the UK to do any research...so any help with locating information would be appreciated.

I can be contacted at [email protected] if there is anyone who can give me some sources that have contributed to the article written about the sinking of the HMS Pomone and also what types of artifacts were recovered from the wrecksite.
Thank you!
