My God Wowbagger, that's fantastic. The style is really lucid and jaunty but not without a hint of the sinister. It's as if you've added Tabasco to your otherwise perfect Bloody Mary. And the newbie is great: less line, more character.
Hrm... I've been away from me pencil too long; you've made me want to go and pick it up.

or would be wonderful.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm interested in seeing if this new series is everyone's cup of , because I'm going to make it up as I go along. Technique, structure, style... everything. This may mean it becomes a bit like artistic 'Chinese Whispers'in that the last cartoon may look very different from the first.
In that way, it will be interesting to see where our newbie goes and what s/he discovers.
On an aside, I was going to make the character design more androgenous, but I found that I just like drawing suits.

Hoorah!! I do like the style, no real dialogue but you know what the Newbie is thinking. Great to see you back.

Phew, for a minute there I thought you'd been organised enough to plan the thing out during your sabbatical.
Now then, Wowbagger dear, women can wear suits and, like most 'men's' things that women adopt, look far better in them than we do. I draw women in suits whenever I possibly can, and feel much better for it.
Love the idea of watching the evolution of the character. That tends to happen anyway but perhaps this will be a condensed version of same. I was looking at some grafitti last year while waiting for a train and noticed that it was, more or less, the very essence of art. Just a horrid tag but its author was playing with it, stretching it, pushing its form until eventually there burst onto the wall an outline version, as if the artist had just evolved into a 'proper' graffitist (spray can spinning in air turns into spaceship). The best thing was that the tag seemed to proclaim its author as 'Poet'.
Incidentally, if one piece of graffiti is a graffito, is one strand of spaghetti a spaghetto? And is ski really the plural term for a pair of sko?

Just noticed the perspective on the sky and the rubbed out clouds: how rather wonderful.

Ta.
Women in suits always look very very lovely . I do believe an earlier Paper Cuts featured such a lady. Suits (don't excuse the pun) your Art Deco style to a sir.
