The Search For Chi, part 1
Created | Updated Oct 20, 2002
Also known as Qi, Ki, spirit energy, internal power, and lots of other stuff. That ethereal substance that permeates eastern culture as deeply as the western belief of the soul, if not more.
Hospitals and chiropractics use ancient healing techniques with it and fighters seek to cultivate it for incredible power. It seems unlikely that something "not there" wouldn't be used for hundreds of years. Also, the explanation of "heightened focus" seems a bit lacking to me.
My theory is that Chi does exist every bit as much as the nuetrino does. After all, how many unknown sub-atomic particles are out there that we haven't discovered yet? For that matter, how many have we seen?
So, I'm going to create a log and share my findings on this site. Any contributions would be of great help.
Later then.

Well, after a bit of looking I've found some stuff on the art of 'nei gung'. This is basically anything you do that builds up your own internal chi. The main focus for basic nei gung is breathing. It stimulates the 'chi battery' inside the pit of your stomach when done right. Breathe deeply while expanding your stomach, you accumalate. Breathe deeply but while contracting, you consume it and send the stored chi circulating through your body along 'meridians'.
Another thing. When you are is trying to build up his chi he'll have to be celibate. Orgasms release a large amount of chi, especially chi you've recently acquired. This reminds me of a special I'd seen on Discovery covering Spontaneus Combustion. The woman had just broken up with her boyfriend and was getting badly burned on her body. Once she found a new boyfriend, the burns stopped. I don't know. Anyway, I'll continue looking into it.
