I think the title says it all.
Although I'm not sure that Muriel's wedding is about an ugly duckling who blossoms and finds love. Finds confidence and trues friendship I thought.

Hmmm... I'll probably get smacked for admitting this but I haven't actually seen Muriel's Wedding all the way through. But the bits I have seen were awfully like some bits of this movie.

Tch.
Muriel heads off into the distance after a divorce/separation from her marriage of convenience, leaves her bitchy aquaintences being very insulted that she doesn't chose to be friends with them (even though they insist they are beautiful), and says goodbye to a very small-minded town with her best mate beside her. Aww, marvellous.

Ooops. Always a risk when one hypothesises without all the evidence. But they do seem similar if you haven't seen them both. And MW is a feelgood movie, right...?
