I bet you wouldn't like to add a bit in front of your quizzes - explaining the pronunciation symbols (one or two at a time)?
I've never mastered them (and don't try to tell me I'm alone!).

I made some very clever guesses and managed to get 12 correct.
I'm not sure I could repeat that on trying again.

Well, I only got 9 right - and I already knew two of those words.
Also, I refuse to take umbrage at the tinfoil hat business, simply because I would be playing into the hands of shadowy forces... *adjusts tinfoil to block harmful rays*
By the way, 'rumspringa' isn't so much courtship as it is 'sowing wild oats'. They go to town, listen to radios, breakdance, cuss (in English), smoke stuff they shouldn't, etc...then they decide whether it's worth leaving home to keep doing that, or whether the cows and buggies are calling them home.

Rumspringa sounds like German 'rumspringen' (jumping around), so that was an easy one to guess for me.
