Well we don't know if it'll be worth it until it's out.
I'm thinking if you care enough it'll be worth it, but if you just ant to watch the film then you might as well get the normal one.
If you asked where the gift-giving thing was, and how they're going to cope without Frodo's little light and Sam's box of mud, then get the extended version.
