Glad to see one of my subjects has finally replied to what I have written about them. Seeing as some of them are dead it narrows the field down a bit.

I have never met him, but he showed up at the Spring Onion drawn on a piece of paper, which became a sort of a theme. Several researchers, including yourstruly have now attended northern meets in inky form. What a trendsetter this guy is.

Mark was ever present and now will soon be temporarily (we hope) absent. He has nursed the community through "interesting times" and we will miss him. His first thought seemed always to be for the good of h2g2 - his second thought seemed to be
