h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

That's me - DDD U1263973 and Deakie U857383 We met on here a number of months ago, got chatting, telephoning, all the usual stuff - you know how it is!! Deaks lives in Portugal and after getting very close via email/phone etc, I eventually flew out from the UK to meet her. After a three short visits, we decided we couldn't live apart, so I up'd and left and we now live blissfully happily in Portimao, Algarve!! To be honest, it's cheaper that way. My phone bill was over �900 for a month and the flights back and forth each weekend were costing the earth, so it had to be done!! I'm currently back in the UK for just a few days tying up the last loose ends - my car is going over in a container and the house is being locked down in preparation for the winter and my likely never return!! Not too many "cool" corners in Portugal at the moment - half the country seems to be on fire unfortunately. It's the longest period of dryness in recent years and the forest fires are eating far too much of the wonderful countryside...

But a dip in the Atlantic always cools us down!!

I know Been watching it on the news, then there's Austria, parts of Germany, Romania, all flooded!!! They even think the Danube is going to burst its banks if there's any more rain

What is going on with the weather?

Our "summer" we've had a different season every day of the week!
Hot one day (burned my shoulders last Thursday) Friday it rained, yesterday was fine, today, torrential downpour, and I'm cold



Oh well, that dip sounds good...

Like I say, I'm currently in the UK. Got back yesterday and have shivered ever since!! We popped over to Seville (2hrs from Portimao) weekend before last and it was 44 degrees!!

Can't see Portugal getting any rain for the foreseeable future. The country needs it, but my selfish self hopes it stays scorching hot - two days in the UK and I've seen enough rain thanks!!

Can't wait to get back - only a few more days now!!!
