A Conversation for Ignorant War against Iraq
War in Iraq

I think you miss the actual point of a war in Iraq. This is not to boost a sagging rating or distract the public from other affairs, except for the economic herring. This war is G.W. giving a gift to his most loyal supporters. He is going to hand over one of the worlds largest oil reserves over to the big energy fat cats who got him elected. At the same time he will shore up the defense contractors with large purchases to sow the fields of the merchants of death that have lay fallow since the collapse of the Soviet Union. At the same time he will strike a blow to the stranglehold of OPEC, and reduce the need for our blind allegiance to Israel.
This is the next step in our Manifest Destiny policy which has kept the American engine running. America is a predatory nation. We were built on the blood of Native Americans, Black slaves, and Mexicans domestically. And after reaching across the continent we claimed the hemishpere. The two world wars have made Europe, America's lap dogs. Now we want Asia, which is a land that no nation has ever effectively controlled. Bush thinks he can do it, because no nation has ever had the resources we do.
The name of the game is empire.
