Hi
I assume that these are agreed. I've copied and pasted the text from this page into the Great Big Document.

By the way, I've drafted the following as a preface, but I am tired and it can be improved upon I am sure:
H2G2 has outgrown its exiting editorial Guidelines. The best entries pushed the boundaries of the Guidelines, sometimes to breaking point. The existing Guidelines provide good advice on how to write an entry, and much of them can be re-used, but the time is long overdue for them to be simplified. There are now over 10,000 Edited Entries providing answers to the question "what does it take to write a Guide Entry?". And there are many long-term members of the community who can provide advice on how to write well for h2g2. So the following Guidelines have been created.

Yeah, there has been precious little criticism and debate about these.
That's a nice, conciliatory preface. I don't really think of this as a simplification. My motivation in writing them was to remove the old guidelines as a tool of exclusion and as a trap of misinterpretation. But that's not something you say in a document such as that .

I'll reword it a bit - I was tryin to say those things but couldn't find the phraseology last night.
