It needs an illustration showing all the bits referred to. To the uninitiated it becomes harder and harder to visualise as the details mount unrelentingly. It certainly is comprehensive enough, but beyond the ken of anyone who's not seen the inner and upper workings of a belfry.

I'm not sure how good VIPs ASCII art is, but mine's pretty good, so it could turn into a co-op.

As I don't know what ASCII is (though I'm willing to learn) that might be a good idea! A diagram is definitely needed.

A623639 should answer all your questions on ASCII art.

If the diagram is reasonably simple, I may be able to ASCII it for you - if not, you'll have to find a nice uncopyrighted file and get the blob approved (presumably through Community Artists; I'll confess to not being fully familiar with the process).

I'm not sure how much detail I should go into. The current article seems to have a lot of info, but presented in a slightly confusing manner, and is a bit wordy. If I just strip the wording a little, and break it into proper sections it'll solve a lot of problems.

We shold be okay without a diagram, I'd've thought. I'll give it a go, anyway.

Actually, I take this back. Ringing Up is explained pretty well in the main bellringing article A126596 (which wasn't written at the time this article was put into Flea Market).

Damn. And just when I though I could do something else, too.

In fact, it might be a good plan to take this out of FM entirely.

At least I wrote an article in these intervening ten years though, it would have been embarrassing to look back and have not written anything!

Err, that reads all wrong when I read it back. I just mean that despite your best distractions, B, I did actually go on to write stuff... eventually!
