That's unfortunate
I think Pierce was interested in a London mini-meet in April (don't have the link, sorry)

Normally I vote and can come then have to cancel as work gets in the way, but this time there's no way I can make it. Just it might be the last one.
I'll keep my eye out for mini-meets.

Are you around on the Friday evening? Early arrivals tend to congregate at the George Inn, Southwick for an unofficial fringe event.
Whoops
Icy North Posted Feb 10, 2011
That's Southwark, London (not Southwick, Hampshire, which doesn't have a George Inn, but does, incidentally, have a Red Lion and a Golden Lion)

Unfortunately not, I'm on a 4 day event, Thursday - Sunday. I could come straight from there, but I'll have a dog with me, who aren't allowed in most London pubs.

We tend to sit outside in the courtyard at the George. I'm not sure about dogs - may be worth asking them?

You'll have to come to the next one
I really must try get an announcement somewhere; as I've now gotten editing rights on the old 'upcoming meets' A page; I think it was Petta who used to edit it). So that can now be a central point again where people can post threads to say they're planning a meet, and I can stick a link and 'blurb' about it up on the A page Of course I'll still be announcing the london meets from the Londonmeet account... Maybe I should drop a quick little 'article' into the post, about the upcomign London meet, and put a paragraph in about the upcoming meet page now being live again, and also the 'past meets' page, which I've also now got editing rights too
I'm sure the was about in London some time mid-April and the idea of a mini meet about then would please him for sure, and if there was an afternoon/early eveng bit I might be able to make that one too I think... though April seems so far ahead I couldn't possibly say yet for sure for sure...
(Just had an evil idea about pretending minas dog is mine then they'd let it in the pub.... )

Outside? In May? In England? I may enquire nearer the time. If there's parking close I could leave him in the van for a while, but it would have to be *very* close.
I do have a hiviz jacket I could put on Fred, but as a reputable trainer I couldn't possibly bring Guide Dogs into disrepute with his troublesome behaviour.

They have patio heaters there - I think we've only sat inside once in all the times we've had the Friday Fringe.

*has a very peculiar and vivid picture, of a police man arresting a dog for impersinating a guide dog* (I wasn't relaly being serious with that suggestion, but I think you knew that )

Oh that's not going to do much for my environmental credentials. Space heating the outdoors.
The pub didn't answer the phone, but the National Trust says dogs ok on lead in courtyard.
What sort of time do you get there?
Whoops
Icy North Posted Feb 10, 2011
Oh, people just drift along. I guess there'll certainly be folks there by 7:30, but it's open all day

I should add that food's often a bit restrictive at the George on Friday nights. Last time it was hog-roast-in-a-bap or nothing. If this concerns you, then eat somewhere before you come along

I'll stop on the way. I still have to work out if it's feasible to leave East Sussex and drive into London on a Friday afternoon...
At least I'd avoid the Dartford crossing...
