Hi, smiley - fishsmiley - musicalnote!

This entry is really clear and well-organised, with all the safety warnings that might be needed. I would make only one small change - I would use the spelling 'tepee' in the title, at any rate, since 'tipi' is much less familiar to most people. 'Tipi' may be the original word, but a lot of dictionaries won't have it.

That's only a very small point, though, and I'm willing to be persuaded on it! I think that this entry is ready for the Edited Guide.

Thanks Azarasmiley - rose, I did think about the title and wondered if it would be more accessible as 'tepee'. If you are hiring a one, it's more usually spelled 'tipi' these days, however I'm quite willing to amend it. It's not a big deal.smiley - smiley

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

My entry on the bow drill <./>A784091</.> hit the front page today (YAY), so I've linked to it. However, I notice that I've used the spelling 'tipi' there, so I'm wondering whether I should amend this back to 'tipi' so that they are consistent.

Are there any strong views?

I wish, Gosho! This one came from a camping holiday with a wilderness and native philosphy and survival organisation, Trackways. We learned about shelter building, water finding, fire making and looking for food in the wild.smiley - biggrin

We're going again this year.

Well, maybe the next entry on this sort of subject might be about shelter building or something such. Making a tipi fire came out of the previous entry on the Bow Drill, and I happen to think that friction fire is quite a marvellous thing. A bit like developing your first black and white photo. I was so excited, that I took the paper out of the developing tray and watched it develop in my hands. smiley - magic

I vote for tepee, just on the grounds that I think it's more widely understood. So there. smiley - winkeye

I don't go in for much of this 'outdoors' smiley - yikes business myself, but this looks like a very thorough and potentially very useful entry. The only thing I can see wrong with it is a typo right at the beginning: 'surivival'. That nitpick aside, great work! smiley - ok

I'll sort the typo out when I get back from worksmiley - smiley. Thanks, Ormy.

maybe you want to add a note that there are two ways to write it?
so if someone searches one of the writings, he will nevertheless get to your entry.

There's a footnote already in, explaining the different spellings, so hopefully no-one should get confused. I could change the footnoste to brackets, if it's not sufficiently clear.

Leave it as a footnote- it's fine like that.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
