It's not that hard...I had Plymouth in the Champions League 1st round proper while they were still a 1st Division club.

Just purchased a very good new management game called Total Club MAnager 2003, which is made by EA Sports and has a picture of the geordie coffin-dodger on the front. It's not quite as good as CM, but comes close. it also has a "watch the gam,e" feature where you can shout advice from the touchline, althought he players sometimes ignore it. Tyhe graphics for the matches a are pretty impressive- a bit like FIFA graphics, although the players don't look anything like themselves. Tomasz radzinski appears to be Fabien Barthez, Richard Wright looks eerily like Franny Jeffers and Gary Naysmith lokks almost right, except that he has blondde hair. Also, players morale is affected by odd things- Within a monmth, Gary Naysmith had a child and got married AND divorced, so his was up and down, ehile Naysmith isn't talking to rory Delap because he beat him to a detergent advert deal, and Tobias Linderoth won't talk to me because I dropped him for Muzzy Izzet.
Quite good fun so far.

I was looking at some screenshots on that site I lnked to, and you get like academy teams and the Ryman league and stuff now. Also, you can watch ariel views of the game, either highlights or the whole match!

I have to say, I was never a big fan of the idea of watching the highlights. It'd take too long and be fairly pointless really. I prefer having my own mental picture.

I really hope that the launch is delayed long enough for me to finish my MPhil.....

28th is the latest date.
Just after I've got Scunthorpe into Europe for the first time, as well.
Finally got round to signing Hazimehmedodavedeedozibeakimickantic or whatever his name is - he's a damn hard worker.
Obscure Scandinavian of the week: Tuomas Kuparinen. Player of the season at Glanford Park 2006-07 and 07-08

It's something a bit like that, anyway (possibly without the 60s musical reference ). Egon'll know.

You think your players are good... I have a Liverpool central midfield partnership of Adriano Rigoglioso and Zico, signed from Morecambe for a combined fee of £270,000.
(by the way, Zico is not the former brazilian international, he is, in fact, Ryan-Zico Black. Oh, and Adriano Rigoglioso is English...)

CM4 update:
Crap with real madrid, crap withA rsenal, crap with Everton, worse than Wilko with Sunderland, not too bad with columbus Crew.
Then I started a game as manager of Morecambe FC, the greatest team the Vauxhall conference has ever seen.
Season 1- board: mid-table. finished: 8th, thanks to signing players of such immense brilliance as Gustavo mendez, Tommy Boyd, Des Walker, juan Jose Jayo and loaning Stilian petrov for the season. Also signed Lee Sharpe and Andy Sinton, both were irretrievably crap.
Season 2- board: midtable finished: 1st, with 110 points and 150 goals, thanks to my new strike partnership of Claudio caniggia and Alen Boksic, who scored 140 between them in all competitions. got another year of Petrov on loan,Boyd and Walker retired, signed Laurent blanc. 15 year old scored five goals on debut. Signed Kanchelskis and Diomede.
Season3 (Div 3)- board- midtable. Finished- top, despite caniggia and blanc retiring. Signed Iain turner (young everton keeper who i'd had on loan the previous season), Ali Benarbia, lee Fowler, Kevin Horlock, Allesandro Ianuzzi (apparently an AC milan reserve forward, not that scottish comedian).
Season 4 (Div2)- board- promotion. Currently: 5th at christmas. Signed Lua-Lua, Neil Mellor, goalkeepers Jose Luis Chilavert (who has 5 goals and 14 assists so far, due to taking penalties, free kicks and corners) and Kasper Schmechel (son of Peter)
I think I've started getting the hang of the game.
Key: Complain about this post
