Would that be because
Dollis Hill??!!
That was a good one - well done Ma!! (or was it Pa again?!)
ummmmm........
I'm heading off on Her Majesty's Secret Service down that road.

At last, M C, well Lelly it's up to you, do we carry on with Glum Cryptics or are you going to change the rules of play
The Glum Team rule OK
LellyPomPom Posted May 16, 2005
Mmmmm - I hate having to think of new rules to play.
How about the Classic "Move Along inside the Train" ruling.....
Now, concentrate, because this is complicated!!
Give a cryptic clue or an anagram to a station, BUT (and this is where it gets complicated) the actual answer is the station to the right of the answer to the clue.
So, for example, my clue may be the one about Cindy being poorly (Dollis Hill), but the station I am looking for is, in fact, Willesden Green.
Get it?? Shall we see how we get on then?
Right - my first clue.......
Prepared a head dress (which I think we may have had before, but let's start easy!!!!)
I need some and after that!!!
Are you trying to blow up my brain or what?
Carole Posted May 16, 2005
Well this is complicated and it depends which way you are holding the map - would you say Warwick Avenue? or Kilburn Park?
Are you trying to blow up my brain or what?
LellyPomPom Posted May 16, 2005
Well - I would have said Warwick Avenue. Obviously the (unwritten) rules say that you hold the map the correct way up - so that the writing is upright.
Your move!!!!

arrrrrggghhhh...I think my brain is going to go pop this week with this new rule, just wait till bunnyfrog gets to know then things will really get complicated

You rang? So glad to be appriciated. The map I usually use is: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/pdfdocs/colourmap.pdf
Ok Im going to jump in with a clue just to be awkward and cause some booing.
"Avenue of early morning risers" and to be doubly annoying we want the station that is directly above it on said map.

LellyPomPom Posted May 16, 2005
Welcome back BF - we knew the game would kick into overdrive as soon as you arrived back!!!!
Will check map!

LellyPomPom Posted May 17, 2005
I think the early risers may be Finches, giving Finchley Road as the answer to the clue.
Can I get confirmation on that before I think about the directly above it bit??

LellyPomPom Posted May 18, 2005
It has all gone very quiet in this strand - you guys must have a life!!!!
Am I the only one racking my (rapidly deteriorating) brain over BF's clue??
I am thinking maybe the Ave of early risers could be Shepherd's Bush (they get up early, but Bush - stretching a point maybe - still, after the now infamous "What Ford" move, could be anything!)
Again, I am looking for confirmation of the clue before I play the station above!

Simetra Posted May 18, 2005
Lelly, I have long ago given up trying to understand how bunnyfrogs mind works, but I will have a look at this one and see if I can solve it

Simetra Posted May 18, 2005
well I've checked through my locations list and nothing springs out as yet, this is a real bunnyblocker

Simetra Posted May 18, 2005
Dare I say it , but could it be the most obvious
such early risers = Morning
maybe another type of Avenue = Crescent
in which case the answer would be
Camden Town, now if I'm right does it mean I've won since it only a clue to the above location
Come bunnyfrog, read the posts and sort it out, we've all got brain ache with this one

Yes I do have a life outside of this and Simetra you are so wrong its unbelievable.
A really subtle clue. What sort of people 'rise' early in the morning?

Ruislip Manor?
We haven't had a brainbuster like this since that pro-celebrity match between Magnus Magnusson and Syd Waddell.
