h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*The Warband reaches the beginning of their quest just before dark. It is a small cave entrance just south of Castle Gorand. Seto ushers his comrades inside, eager to be out of sight.

Dank, stagnent water drips from above as the warband enters the tunnel. The old cave quickly leads to a forgotten sewer, and then to an opening never made by human hands...*

[Seto] This could be it. I believe my father came this way... With luck, there should be little danger yet, though Goblins dwell in Gorand now, and no doubt in the tunnels and dungeons beneath...

*Seto pulls out a fettered map, and finds the path he wants.*

[Seto] Yes, this is the way! It will take us under Gorand. My father hoped to slay the beasts, and if he got inside, there will be little resistance. However, with the walls still standing, and the threat of a garisson still standing, this way is best. It's only a few miles...

*appears directly behind Lylax in a dark burst*
"would you find my skills useful here elf? with my skills I could most likely create an entrance for you and your group and enough of a diversion for you to slip past, all I require is a torch. But i warn you, It may be rather loud and flashy"

I could have the entire garrison moving in the wrong direction with a bit of luck

[Seto] Maybe later. I'd like to keep the element of suprise for as long as possible...

*The party sneaks through the endless paths and passages. Soon sounds of fighting can be heard, and the warband discovers the remains of a Skaven Clan-home.*

[Seto] These Skaven are backstabbing and disloyal by nature. If they sence weakness in a Clan, all the neighbouring Clans will rush in to strip them of everything of value. Those they don't kill, they'll enslave... We'll have to be careful from here on in, and keep an eye on the shadows. Whatever you do, don't let them take you alive...

They're nothing compared to my people, NEVER allow a demon to spare your life, they'll usually expect you to return the favor in some way you'll rather die than do" Kiro's odd flame-ringed eyes scan the shadows as he walks.

*Cautiously the team advance, looking into all nearby shadows for fear of attack.

Suddenly, a slave shrieks in fear at the sight of the warband. Seto silences him with a powerful downward slice, but it was too late, the alarm was raised.*
[Seto] Uh oh... trouble... Prepare to fight!

*Kiro throws off his cloak to reveal a heavily scarred and muscular, but thin body. flame from a nearby torch circles his clawed arms and legs, and the nails seem to become Hellfire itself.*

"I'm looking forward to it"

*a thin wooden staff appears in mid air above, falls, and embeds itself in the floor. Time Traveller is standing next to it.*

Trust my luck, always just in time for the fighting...

*Time Traveller's hands delve into his pockets and come out with playing cards between the nuckles, four on each hand. If you looked at them closely you would see the right hand cards are entierly red with their values (the four aces as it happens) picked out in white. The same is true for those cards in his left hand, save that they are green. Explosive in one hand, poinsoned in the other.*

I cant see anything in this gloom...

*Time Traveler's eyes flash as he has a preminition...*

They'll hear the bangs

*puts explosive cards back in pocket and pulls out another card, one which is painted white with a raised value in black. It's a metal card.*

Gazes into the darkness

*gazes*

actualy... I cant see anything...

Are you sure?

*raises his eyebrow at the traveler and speaks but two words*

"you're late"

*raises his eyebrow at the traveler and speaks but two words*

*keeps eyes fixed on the darkness. Puts the metal card away and takes out a pair of spectacles with thin black frames. Puts them on, and gets out metal card again*

I would have been later had I not travelled back in time to be here.

*flicks wrist*

*The metal card flies off into the dark, and a small sigh is heard as it slits a Skaven's throat*

I think that these Scaven are increadibly cowardly...
