Actually, it isn't all that hard to use gender-free pronouns - as a matter of fact, it's a lot easier than looking for a word that serves the purpose of 'he' (as in 'if someone found this, then he would...') that means 'she' as well...

I make up interesting but wrong psychological theories, then (using a carefully planned and entirely unused methodology) I collect a load of convincing yet fabricated data to support them. It's very scientific.

And we would need a load of people to diss other, less creative scientists and convince them that creative science explains the (manufactured) data better anyway. When they object, we can just give them a nice, big !
