A Conversation for Saturday Matinees
ABC MINOR

I remember it as the ABC MINORS. It started at 9am and finished at noon.
Every week some hero was stuck in some disaster that any normal human could not escape from. Next week you would go and find out how they got out of it. Sometimes a bit of a let down. 6d (6 pence old money) and 3 hours of second rate movies and a few reasonable cartoons.
The sing song (ABC MINORS)and the occasional children entertainer to break the monotany is what I remember. vegiman

You might like to know, my hubby and I have a copy of the ABC minors song,
both of us having worked or are working for ABC.
It's very worn and stratched but then so is the company.

OK - it's a little cheesy to put it here, but ABC Cinemas have a web site, www.abccinemas.co.uk (obvious really, but...) and they still have Sat. matiness in some places in some forms.
I'm not incidently an ABC employee either.
