My pleasure - I'm always mentioning GuidePost in threads... any danger of there being a GuideDog release in the forseeable future?

Not in the immediate future: this is a very complicated project which is going to require a lot of work. I also have some family-related issues which keep on getting in the way.

Hmmm. Have you installed it yet?

Nope - I usually put install.exe's in a folder I made called Installers so that I can easily get them going again after an OS reinstall, but since this was downloaded from the Windows Update page with some other stuff... it should have installed itself after the download, right?

Ah, found it smiley - ok

I *did* manage to do a lot of work on GuideDog using an evaluation copy of VS.NET: it was so incredibly productive that I very nearly finished the thing. But you know how these things go: the first 80% of the functionality took only 20% of the total effort, but the remaining 20%....
The license ran out before I could complete, so I have to get a kosher copy. This will take a little while. The I have to deal with some sticking points. But I always said up front that this project would take ages, possibly years, to complete given my other commitments.
However, I have also managed to get a copy of MS Word 2003, which allows direct WYSIWYG XML Editing. This means that I shall look into creating a stop-gap template for GuideML editing in Word. If the author has a copy of Word all they will need to do is to load the template up and get cracking.
