lokking though the comments in peer review I can tell that I need to make the article longer and I will. Just not tonight

I'm really not trying to be fragmentative, but a certain amount of personal style should be allowed.

Cefpret Posted Jan 11, 2003
'Personal style' is wanted if not needed. But the *structure* of an entry should follow the same guidelines for all entries. I think this still means very much freedom for the author.

I can understand that. For example if you specified a certain graphic
I would be willing to swich from the ones there now.
The Image of Bootes showing the shape is a table
modified from one created by dragondreamer and located in geocity.
there is a link to it in my proving ground.

The entry is almost finished. Here a few polishing remarks:
The introductory text will be on the index page, so you don't need something like this on a constellation page. When we are creating the index page, you should let us include this text and become co-author of it.
Please mention the meteor shower of the Quadrantids. It's the second biggest of all. It's properties are: 1st January to 4th, maximum on 3rd. 145 stooting stars per hour, middle velocity.
'Canes venatici' is plural and means 'hounds' (there are two of them).
'Nekkar' or 'Nekbar' means 'ox drover'. It's 219 ly away.
'Seginus' or 'Ceginus' is a Latin imitation of the Arabic script version of 'Bootes'. (Quite .) It's 85 ly away.
Izar may also be called 'Mirak' which means 'protection'. It's 210 ly away. Another name is 'Pulcherrima' ('the most beautiful') because it's regarded as the most beautiful double star.
eta Boo is called 'Muphrid', the "the lancer's lonely star". It's 37 ly away.
tau Boo is 51 ly away.
You needn't write 'm=' or 'LY' in the table since it's already in the header. And please insert a space before each '('.
I may be easier for you to download http://makeashorterlink.com/?G14112013 and insert your text there. You can delete the sections about clusters/nebulae since there are no such objects in Bootes that are interesting.
Thank you for contributing!

You may now change the status on Bootes to finished. I do not plan to make any more changes....shagbark

Okay, thanks. Please send your contribution to [email protected] in GuideML format. It would save me a lot of time. You remain the only author (unless, of course someone significantly adds something, then both of you), but I have to adjust it to the general appearance the constellation entries should have. This will affect structure by and large.
Thank you.

You wish review on this thread very well. The coordinate lists
30 degrees as the declination but that could describe two very
different spots on the Celestrial Globe. proper would be 30 °N.
Further I am still feeling about the deletion of my block quote. You may insist on things being inserted but how dare you
delete things without the author's permission.

apologies if my nomenclature is out of date ---I just checked and North and South are now represented with plus and minus signs.

As I've already told you in the parallel thread, I've already re-inserted it, however I'm still wondering where the connection with Bootes is.

This is one of the elements of editing. It must be used with care, but a thing like h2g2 doesn't work without it. All links you had in your entries are stored in comments in the GuideML source of the current ones. In the last phase of this project the linking is done, and then I can need such links on the index page.
I've adjusted the coordinates to the proper nomenclature. Thank you for that.
