Ducks

Ducks on water, they swim with such grace

Darting and diving all over the place

But one can't help noticing, and so rudely gawk

That once on land they waddle instead of walk.

Ducks in the air, flying with speed

Really so lovely to behold; oh yes indeed

But when they land on the ground and begin to stalk

You can't help notice that they waddle instead of walk.

Ducks in the countryside, such a refreshing thing

Swimming, sitting and sunning or taking to the wing

But once they run at the sight of a hawk

You really can't deny that they waddle instead of walk.

Ducks in the farmyard, looking for things to eat

Quacking and rooting, trying to uncover a treat

Rushing over to grab the best of the cornstalk

They do look so funny as they waddle instead of walk.

Duck on a plate, ready to eat

With orange sauce, yum, what a treat

But ready your knife and stab it with a fork

It sprints off your plate with a not waddle nor a walk.
