So, for someone who knows none of you in RL, and has no RL friends on here, any advice on where I can get an hotel? What area or, indeed, are there any particular hotels you lot are using so that I ain't wandering all lost like in london? I'd feel a bit better if there were others from HooToo in the same hotel, even if I don;t actually know them!
In other words, I wanna come but feeling a bit dubious about going down there on me tod and ending up in a hotal the other side of Nodnol in a rough area or somesuch!
Sorry, but i do worry about these things....

You should try talking to the Dutch, I'm fairly sure they stay en masse in a hotel somewhere.

You can call me TC Posted Jun 24, 2002
I was looking too, as I didn't want to impose on my friends in London by dropping in on them possibly quite inebriated at about 1 am.
Fortunately, my sister has said I can stay with her and arrive any time, so I'm OK now. But Bossel had a good suggestion - it is actually the place where the Dutch stay and is amazingly cheap, compared with the rest of London.
So look up Bossel U132240

Ahhh! Glasshouse, Piccadilly circus...I been there ! I have!
Stayed in the...erm....Regents Palace Hotel? for work it was (damned skinflints they are) Is it still as cheap and cheerful as ever it was? Cos it looks like it's about 5 mins staggering distance from your chosen pub and i do remember that there is a bit KFC or Burger King or somesuch just across from it......Yay, no drunbken tube ramblings for me then! (sorry Tube, i mean undeground!)
So should i book there or does nobody know this particular place?

I don't - but then I'm a firm Europa person myself - there is nothing more fun than a small elite group of h2g2ers making their inebriated way back there on the Tube - even if last time one of them ended up on crutches.
