sshhhh!
Have you considered getting your jelly-gin idea patented?

From what I understand, goo-gin was as rough as the rest of pioneer life (yuck). Still, I suppose there would be a market at places like universities, where people on limited budgets wouldn't want to waste their liquor when they fell over drunk...

Spiff Posted May 14, 2002
Hang on... are you trying to stick up for the aforementioned veracity with regard to the hithertofore incredulabulous concept of 'goo-gin'?
Where did this one come from, I wonder...
have fun,
spiff

Speaking of sticky (well, ok...you said "stick up" but that's close enough") goo-gin has the consistancy of gelatin but the taste was closer to tar. Pine flavored tar, if you can imagine.

Propose a move for this one. Needs a bit of work and Raney hasn't posted for over a year

Yeah, but Flea Market, I think. There is nothing wrong with it, it would be suitable EG material in fact, it just feels a little slight.
Seconded. Move to the Flea Market! I'll notify Anna at: A974522

He said that this one wasn't factual. I don't think it would be much use in the FM without the author distinguishing which are facts and which are not.
Oppose this move I do!

Have you told Anna you oppose the move, Jodan?
For that matter, she has been back a week - is she going to move any of the ones we have asked her to move?

Nah, I don't have a strong opinion. If you and KJ think so, I'm happy to let it be
I have a thread on her page entitled Hi Anna! ( Original eh?) you can ask her. I've been nagging the italics enough (Jimster keeps telling me that I'm keeping them 'busy' )

No harm in that. They are paid to run the site, after all!

Well I'm far too new to be 'almost single-handedly keeping them busy'
Plus, they've been very nice to me.

Don't get me wrong - they are very nice people.
Btw - we need to encourage more commentary on entries here in the AWW, but I am stumped how to do so.
Authors need an audience, and the comments don't have to be big or insightful. The more feedback authors get, the more authors will put entries in here, the more interesting the forum becomes, the more fun it is reading it, the easier it is to make comments. It is a virtuous circle. I hate to admit it, but spook had a point that a one-off appearance on the Busiest Conversations List is nice, but it doesn't change the world.
I am curious to know why people aren't commenting on the entries. It may be the fact it is summer, of course. But I wonder if there is some kind of hesitancy among the Miners. It may need making clear that the primary duty of the Miners is to read and comment on entries in the AWW, but that the comments can be one-liners. If I don't feel able to comment, (on fiction for example), I still say "thank you for posting it here".
My personal hope is to have the oldest conversation here no more than three months old, and to have every entry here worth reading, but I cannot do that on my own.

I'm trying
I want to publish something in the post, but haven't quite gotten around to writing it. All I got was a small bit done. I also worked on A1108432
The newest volunteers, Hypatia and Madent (Who I haven't heard of lately come to think of it) didn't come from the Status report...
I spoke with GTB about a few scouts and others I've been keeping an eye on. We might have to solicit some...
PS- We ought to talk about your dinner with boots, but on a different forum
