Sunbury: Home of the ashes

1 Conversation

Sunbury, Victoria, Australia. A place where a long time ago at a demonstation match at Rupertswood oval, a cricket stump was burnt and the ashes placed in an urn.
Today, burnt stumps grow in abundance. In 1997 an exhibition match was staged between the visiting English team and whatever Australians were doing nothing at the time.
This event is unlikely to be repeated as there is not a lot to do in Sunbury today but eat pizza, rent videos and run naked across cricket pitches.
