House Hunting Part Two

2 Conversations

Well, I'm sure my friends are about ready to
strangle me by now, as I've kept them in suspense for
quite awhile as far as which place we decided upon...
and then I had to go and write this...

We have decided upon1 a place that no one here has seen the description of yet! That's right, we saw it
after last week's article was submitted.

And the winner is...

  • Double wide
  • 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
  • Fridge, gas stovetop, double oven, new dishwasher,
disposal, washer, dryer, central heat &
    A/C2
  • Asking $21,9503
  • Southgate Mobile Home Park

Tom had looked at the outside of this place while I
was at work on 5.4.02, but we needed an appointment to
see the inside. So we looked at it on the afternoon of
7.4.02. It's a great place! There's 2 big storage
sheds out back, and a beautiful built-in
hutch4 Only drawback is
something easily changed - the carpet is
hideous5... The bedrooms are both good
sized, so visitors won't feel cramped6 And I quite like
the layout of the kitchen. Be nice to have a decent
kitchen again...

And it will only take half an hour to get to work!
No more getting up at 5.30 am! YAY!!!7 *ahem* Sorry about
that...

So anyway, after we looked at it, we thought we
should ask around about the neighbourhood, as we're not
familiar with the area. I called a lady from our
Tuesday night study that I've been talking to about
neighbourhoods, but she isn't familiar with that part
of town - just that it's near a high school that's
supposed to be a little rough (her husband's a
teacher). She did suggest, however, that Tom and I
drive around the neighbourhood after dark, which we
did. Pretty quiet, once we got off the main road -a
couple people walking dogs, and some people sitting
out on unfenced front yards chatting. I also asked my
co-workers, as out of the four of them, three live in
that area. Turns out I'd be right around the corner
from one8! So that's good.
So we decided to tell the real estate agent 'yes', and
he is coming over tonight (9.4.02).

(Later that evening) We just started the
paperwork! So I guess, as soon as we're approved for
the loan and for the park, it'll be official!

Now, if anyone's interested, I suppose I could
chronical the next steps... But if not, then I
won't.
