'Yesterday was 101010 – well, if we are generous and ignore that it was actually 10.10.2010...'
May I gently point out to the ever-generous Editor that the Post's archives themselves are in the format 10.10.10? Or are we about to see a sudden and radical overhaul of the Post's archives?

No, we're not going to change the format.
We just assume that everybody knows that 10.10.10. is short for 10.10.2010.
