Are we missing something?

Recently I have allowed the forign exchange student from Japan to borrow some of my Anime DVD's. The shows are generally not considered to be, but he is calling me "The kid with the Hentai" it make me wonder if something is amiss here...

depends what you lent him, how old he is, and how big his sense of humour is I guess...

It was ranma 1/2, he is 17, and I have no idea what his sense of humor level is right now...
though he may just be appeasing another friend of mine who was calling it hentai to try and bug me...

I think of the tentacle monster or La blue Girl when I think of hentai. I would not call Ranma hentai. Am I missing something as well?

Ranma - no, I wouldn't class that as hentai. I think you are the victim of a joke here.
