Hey everyone. I've got a guide entry about Rurouni Kenshi in peer review.
Read it and give me your comments.

Also, what other topics should we be seeking to put in the guide to further educate other H2G2ers?

i read your article - very well written! there are tons more informatio you could add to it, but then again they would just "spoil" the series maybe - that's my personal feeling - that the manga and the anime also show the beginning of the western culture influencing old japan, and the problems it brought.
Next? don't know, have to check what is there already. Maybe The Slayers? Or a classic - Sailor Moon this could be interesting, as most of the western dubbings seem to have tried to cover up the gay and lesbian relationships there

Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like Posted Jan 13, 2006
I've been both idle and short of time, but I will try and check this out over the weekend, though what practical help I'll be is open to debate, never having had any real exposure to either version of RK.
As for other projects, I'm inclined to think that rather4 than try and make them fan favourite specific, it might pay to take a wider stance. There is in the flea market, or should be, a skeleton of a piece on 'Magical Girls', of which SM are undoubtedly the best known (if not the best - that would be MKR for my money) example.
I would also think that the guide has room for a piece about Studio Ghibli, and maybe Evangelion or Studio Gainax. But I have a piece of Godzilla to finish first...
By the way Nim - was your friends shopping expedition to London successful?

Good going that man!
Maybe now I've moved and got the pc set up somewhere sensible I can get round to that one about Evangelion, or Miyazaki...

congrats on the entry!
The shopping expedition ... the friend of a friend who was supposed to get me some manga-drawing books, well his wife had been on one of the trains in London during the bombs, she survived, but she has to deal with both the shock and PTSD, and being questioned by the police just because she is Iranian. I avoided using "harrassed" because they are just doing their job, but it still sucks.
so of course her husband didn't go off doing shopping for other people! i'm planning on a trip to Austria to visit friends there, maybe i can get some stuff there.
ideas for more entries - Sayuki and comparing it to the original "Journey to the West". I like sayuki more, the original monk was a wimp, and a *boring* wimp at that.
