morning to dust
Everyday is the same
another sullied breath of fettered air
constant flickering eyes
neons shining
mind disolving
portal eyes
lipless
listless
anaemia
sweat laden sheets
dribble dowsed pillows
screaching alarm
mind cut into
a hair covered arm
a crinkled brow
scraggy beard
morning rise
miday break
tea for all
but what to sate the hungering eyes?
what to reawaken hope?
switch on
stepping in
scoulding
frozen
lukewarm
scrubbing away the years
washing tissues into the collection box below
from dust to dust
from earth were we born
to it shall we return
ashes to ashes?

wow Patrick, serious creativity time! have you just unblocked something or had you written them previously?
(fun little song when i'd been smoking myself silly)
Some say life is hard
Some think it's f*cking easy
I say it's just a joker that got sent down here to tease me
Please pass me down my music
Then pass me up a beer
And lets all make a punchline
Coz there ain't no angels here
We may be high but we're never near heaven
Now the gates are locked and there's no way in
So let's live life
Let's be the jokers
Let's play at devising an original sin.

...........later that night when i'd almost smoked myself to sleep but still had enough energy to hold a pen................
tonight I was reminded
I could almost touch the feeling
Of the shadows on the ceiling
where i used to leave my thoughts
Watching embers breathe in time with you
Then smokey fingers as they curled around your face
I can't forget that face
Tonight they sang in time with me
Tonight I sang with memories
I'm not afraid to close my eyes
They listened tonight
I sang for you tonight
We are no longer us I fear,
As desperate as I am for comfort
Belonging like a cobweb in your room.
tonight was almost us again.
I must forget that feeling
Of the patterns in the ceiling
As tonight it wasn't you

naw no block, most of them have been written over the past few months and i thought it was about time to collect them together and put them here as there hasnt been much for a while.
Have you a favourite?

i wouldn't say i had a favourite, there's lines that stand out as particularly beautiful or striking. you're very good at endings. do you ever think of the endings first then fit everything around them?

heh thankee. uuuuuuuuum normally i get a line or a couple of lines in my head and then build up around it. sometimes it needs a beginning sometimes it needs an end. I like my poems to make sense, so that anyone can read them and understand them and they're not only understandable to me. That's cool too but i like sharing. They might have different meanings to different people but that's o.k. sometimes i just get very very very stoned and then write. i make most of my poetry in my head when i'm walking places. I very very rarely sit down and write. and that's how i write

You meant nothing in the end
you meant nothing in the end
my love is for another
a love undeserved
i am unworthy
i will be composed of her
i cannot resist
ive desired it
she loves another
i find him undeserving
yet ill never live up to him
how much drink can i consume
to hide myself in?
its not worth it
its not worth it
its not worth it
and nor are you
let my liver freeze
let my heart shiver
its all a sliver
from you into my depths
its not worth it
its not worth it
its not worth it
and nor are you
ill be dead before you realise
you cant control me anymore
nice try
goodbye
youve failed
she'll never love me
and yet she'll free me
from your tyranny
