Hi Claire,
just came across your note on the Devon site; as a native Devonian and a historian, I'm fascinated by all aspects of the past and culture of this wonderful part of the UK. I'm actually a First World War historian (PostGrad) studying the SW, but have also done some work on mining and quarrying in the region; e;mail me if you have any interest in my work or opinions, I'd be glad to hear from you (if only to take the sting out of the Cornishmen's "we're great" mentality!!!!
