Myself I'm partial to MLCad - it's a lot easier to use. LeoCad does have the advantage of being able to do animation, however.

I agree completely. And using LDraw without a GUI is impossible. MLCad is certainly my favorite.

I wouldn't say impossible, just highly challenging. Okay, maybe really highly challenging is more appropriate.
Then again it's silly to use LDraw without a GUI when there's two of them so easily available.
