Did you ever find out if the girl had gone?

That is, if she was there at all. I'm ashamed to say that although I like reading these stories and commenting on them, I am a sceptic. I find it hard to believe in things like ghosts.

Did you, though? Maybe you could go back and look through the visitor's book again, or contact the owner?

The wine you consumed as well may have had something to do with what you saw. However, you said your son saw her, and it is unusual for two people to hallucinate the same thing. Had he been drinking too?! (Joke!)

And what was that thing with the spaniel? Please explain!

We never went back, I doubt if H could be dragged back there again!

H saw the spaniel at one of our local pubs, he said it was as clear to him as 'real' dog. It was around 7pm on a summer's evening so the light was still fairly good, but I didn't see or sense a thing.

Although we have been back to the pub many times, he has not seen it again, yet. Inside the pub there can be an odd feeling occasionally, slightly chilly but nothing sinister. Otherwise H would refuse to go back there too!
